Loveshack deliver shirts in Kenya

Kawanware slum youth football team photo

On Saturday 29th April 2006 a member of the Loveshack Team donated a set of shirts to the superbly named Kawangware Slum Youth Team. The children were very pleased with them and are looking forward to playing a game in them.

The following is a letter from the Loveshack

Dear Give 4 Strips

We wish to thank you for the kits recently sent to us in Kenya. I wish you could be here to see the player’s faces light up and their confidence grow.

At Loveshack we have a resident footballer, Alex aged 16. We have given him the task of finding teams to issue the remaining kits. We have made a short video of the first kits going to the Kawangware Slum Youth Team.

Getting groups together not only stops the boys from becoming lazy and commiting petty crimes, it also gives us the chance to talk about issues such as HIV/Aids, the importance of education and environmental issues.

We cannot thank you enough for your kindness and hope that one day you will visit.

Yours sincerly The Loveshack

In addition the children and coaching staff have sent their messages of thanks.

“We have been humbled by your kind gesture, we love you may our almighty God bless you through and through” Daniel Ganani (Team Captain)

“We appreciate you as our friends and hail your donation of soccer jerseys” Kenneth Murthi (Assistant Captain)

“We kindly appreciate you very much for the football jerseys that we have got from you via Loveshack. May our almighty God bless you so much” Samuel (Assistant Captain)

“It’s sweet to know there are friends out there who will think of you. Thanks for your football jerseys, they will go far in motivating the players, well done” Sammy Kimani (Team Manager)

“Your donation has been timely and tickles our hearts to even loving you more” John Chege (Head coach)
